What I didn't know is what a miracle He would do in my own heart before I finished the piece.
Unknown to me, a seed of shame was lurking in my spirit that had kept me from forgiving myself. I hadn't realized how much it was dragging me down until God brought it to light in a surprising moment. His continued grace has freed me from the heaviness and self-hatred I felt for so long.
I praise God for His forgiveness, and that His mercies are new every morning!

Beth,
ReplyDeleteSuch important, valuable truth. Thank you for walking in God's love.
2 Cor 3:18 says, "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His image with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
In this article, you testify to the Lord unveiling your face, your contemplation of His glory and the ongoing transformation that is ours - those who are being saved. Hallelujah! Thank you for sharing truth and grace is such tangible, capable, relevant writing.

Yes, forgiveness is a tough one. I'm proud of you for being brave enough to put all that down and for allowing God to work in your heart and life. Sometimes I think I've really overcome some hurt that has been hard to forgive, but then it rears its ugly head, and I have to lay it down again and remind myself that I'm forgiven and can forgive others.
